Otis, Patch, and Cilley Join the Teacher's Pet Sitting Service Family

For the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of letting Otis the golden retriever out into his yard to play and sniff along with his

                     Newfoundland friend, Patch, and his

German Shepherd sister, Cilley! Don't worry, Cilley goes out with her siblings but this was the best picture I could get of her!

From left to right are Daisy, Patch, Otis, and Cilley!

They think it's a bonus to have my coon hound, Daisy, join them on occasion and they treat her like one of the family!

Because they live on a busy street I don't walk them but they enjoy their yard time just as much and I have had the pleasure of getting to know them well this way!

Welcome to the Teacher's Pet Sitting Service family guys!

American Bulldog, Dozer, Explains How His 4th of July Weekend Was With April

Hi Everyone,

My name is Dozer and I was a bit nervous to be left alone on July 4th weekend but as soon as I was greeted (here I am standing by the door) by my pet sitter, April, I relaxed immediately! She greeted me with a lot of excitement because she'd never taken care of an American bulldog who weighs almost 120 pounds before! She kept commenting on how handsome I was and of course on how

my paws were almost as big as her hand!

She also loved my smile and she couldn't stop smiling right back at me!

I was super excited that she opened the treat bag so many times after our walks because I am known to be a treat hound! She couldn't get a good picture of the treats because I ate them so fast!

After our walks April loved that I snuggled as close to her as pawsible! She was such a nice lady so how could I not be right next to her?!

At the end of each visit (she stayed a lot longer than I overheard her say she'd stay) I got super sad but she always told me she'd be back real soon and she wasn't kidding! I couldn't get enough of her company and if you ever need a pet sitter I highly recommend her!

Bon Voyage, Del!

On Sunday I took this final picture of Del as a remembrance of him because in a few days he will be moving back to Colorado with his mom. After having spent nearly 3 years together on lengthy assignments I had a hard time accepting that we won't be spending time together anymore. Truly, saying goodbye is one of the hardest things about being a professional pet sitter but I was thrilled that his mom thought to invite me over to give him one last rub down!

I asked his mom how Del was reacting to the upcoming transition and she said he's been camping out in her suitcase as if he's afraid he's not going with her. Del's mom gave me permission to share this picture of him in her suitcase! Isn't he handsome? Rest assured, Del is a smart boy who will figure out soon enough that he is with his mom for the long haul (get it?)!

I will miss Del's active and curious personality and will remember him forever! Good luck on your move, silly kitty!

Stoli's Vet Visit

When clients are prevented from taking their pets to the vet due to their hectic work schedule I am always available to take them at a minimal cost and that is what I did on Tuesday with Stoli in tow.

He had developed a very concerning and uncomfortable rash under his chin due to a reaction (according to the suspicion of the vet) to his diet. This picture only shows a fraction of the discomfort Stoli had been going through so I'm glad I was available to take him to the vet to help ease his pain.

In the exam room Stoli humorously stayed in his crate and later on the scale (he was carried out back on the scale!) while he was being treated! The tech and the vet both remarked on how handsome he is and they were right about that! The vet gave him two injections and advice to change his diet until they could make a good guess as to what caused his allergic reaction.

It was rewarding to be able to provide such a convenience to Stoli and his mom during such a stressful time. If you ever need me to take your pet to the vet please contact me and I'll be happy to help!

Rest in Peace Dear, Silly Chip!

It is with great sadness that I announce that dear silly Chip passed away in his sleep last month and I would've told you sooner but his owners couldn't find the strength in their loss to let me know until yesterday. He didn't show any signs of illness prior to his passing so perhaps his age (11)was a factor. The main things I will miss about him was that he had a remarkable ability to catch treats in midair from long distances and that he wiggled his entire body in excitement prior to going for walks and prior to getting treats! I also loved that he lived close enough to downtown that we could frequently stop in stores to greet shopkeepers and to get treats! I only knew him for two years and that was not enough time! Daisy and I will miss him terribly!

Below is the post that was written on the first day of our walks in 2017 to remember him by:

Here's my new walking partner, Chip, who hasn't quite figured out that he is nine years old! I don't know if you can tell from the picture but he was READY to go, go, go as soon as I outfitted him in his harness!

Because he had so much energy to burn he talked me into extending his first walk to an hour rather than the usual 30 minutes!

When the adventure was over the ONLY thing that motivated him to get off HIS couch (If you met him in person you'd agree that the peppy, campy pillow matched his personality!) was when he saw me open his

     treat jar!

If you live in Dover, New Hampshire, and think your dog would benefit from midday or vacation walks please consider Teacher's Pet Sitting Service to meet his or her needs!

Molly + Saturday = Fun!

Why are Molly (front) and Daisy smiling, you ask? Because on a beautiful Saturday they had the chance to enjoy a perfectly sunny and cloudless morning walking with each other!

There was lots to sniff and

lots to investigate for two walks! Walking in Molly's neighborhood on the weekend is always an adventure because there are yard sales, kids going to baseball games, joggers, walkers, and older folks playing pickle ball to keep these friends entertained!

My Two Weeks With Lasher, Fae, and Meep Was Purrfect!

For two weeks I had the pleasure of showering Lasher (on the left) and Fae with love while their owners were on vacation in Italy and I couldn't have been more pleased with how well the cats did with their absence!

Since two weeks is a long time to be without family I worried that the cats would become too lonely but as each visit went by Fae (who is 8)  and

Lasher (who is 17) became very relaxed and comfortable!

I also had the pleasure of taking care of their bearded dragon, Meep, whose only requirement was that I give her a bowl of lettuce at each visit! It was my first time taking care of such a creature and it was very easy to do!

If you are going away for a short or long vacation and don't know who to trust to take care of your pets, I can help! I offer 13 years of experience, excellent references, and proof of insurance for your peace of mind!

Warm Greetings From Stoli and Candi

One of the many joys of being a professional pet sitter is to be greeted at the door by my furry friends because it is a sign that they look forward to my visits and have welcomed me into their routine. While mom was away from Stoli the American short hair (above) and

Candi the Persian it was nice to know they were comforted by my presence!

Aren't they cute?

My Weekend With Echo and Mojo

This weekend I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Echo the Yorkie (above) and

Mojo the Chihuahua while their parents enjoyed a short getaway!

 Besides walking with Daisy,

Echo (Mojo was too shy to come along) enjoyed sniffing the grounds of the Berwick Bark Park!

There was a lot of territory to cover so they worked up an appetite and ended up sharing a hot dog from the concession stand that was out in front of the park!

It was a wonderful weekend with these two cuties and I look forward to seeing them again later this summer!

Welcome, Bailey, to the World and to Teacher's Pet Sitting Service!

I'd like to introduce you to my newest weekly walking and play partner, Bailey, who is an 8 week old bloodhound who joined her new family this past Saturday! I met her on Sunday night and was instantly mesmerized by her long ears, droopy eyes, soft wrinkly fur, and big paws!

Since she is being crated during the work week it is my job to visit her midday to give her a chance to feel the grass beneath her toes and to stretch her legs while also showing her where she is supposed to relieve herself. I'm also supposed to get her used to the leash and hopefully get her to take short walks! Everything is new to her so it will be my pleasure to introduce her to her new world!

Isn't she cute?

13 Friends Who've Been Keeping Me Busy

I have been absent from blogging lately because I have been busy with the following thirteen friends so I hope you can tell from looking at the faces why I was so distracted!

The above picture is of Del who had the name Beethoven prior to adoption!

Next up is quiet and curious Oakley!

Then there was snuggly Maisey.

Then there was Maggie who looks forward to her midday walks.

Then there was thoughtful Smoke.

And my new friend, Betty!

Louis and his sibling,

Bucky, saw me while mom was out of town.

Then there was Lucy who's mom was away on a business trip.

Then there was Nori who always looked forward to her walks.

Rhody got plenty of belly rubs from me!

Binx was busy waiting for me to get her some treats.

And finally there was silly Molly posing with my dog, Daisy.

As you can see, there was plenty of cuteness to go around with these thirteen pets!

Snickers, May You Rest in Peace

A few weeks ago I received word that Snickers (leaning forward on the left) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly but have been too overwhelmed to share this news publicly until now. I've known her since 2015 and she was only 9 when she passed. She had so much more life to live! Her constant sidekick and BFF,Taco, is obviously having a terrible time (he is scared to be alone) processing her loss. I'm beyond shocked!

She and her buddy never walked with me because they preferred to go in and out of doors to scout out the neighborhood and sniff to their heart's content and when they were inside they spent the time snuggling beside me.

These photos were taken during February vacation week (her owners were on a cruise) so I am beyond happy that I had the opportunity to spend time with her before she passed. I always regard every visit as a privilege and also think that time is fleeting so I soak up the memories while I'm by their side because I never know if the parents will move, have a change in needs due to work schedules, or if illness or worse could happen in the blink of an eye.

It saddens me that poor Taco (on the left) doesn't have his buddy to eat with or play with anymore and I only pray that he will adjust to his new way of life. I also mourn for her parents and two sisters who are obviously missing Snickers desperately.

I only hope her family can find a way to heal from this horrible, tragic loss.
