What It's REALLY Like To Wake Up With Daisy

Before Daisy came to live with us nearly two years ago Amos and I did not have the need to wake up before 7 a.m. because we only had our cats, Henry and Buster, to attend to in the morning and they are both considerate enough to wait for breakfast until we were ready to feed them.

Not so with Daisy! She routinely wakes us and the cats up with a loud screechy yawn, a game of chase with the cats which involves a lot of pouncing followed by hisses of protest from the cats. It is really, really obnoxious to say the least! Sometimes I pretend to be asleep when this routine is going on and sometimes Amos does the same thing but never on the same morning of course!

Apparently Daisy's goal had always been to have both of her humans alert and ready for breakfast by 7 a.m. and she accomplished that this morning with the help of our her favorite pillow!

Daisy's morning routine came to a halt when she heard a familiar click-click-click coming from a pink box and she knew she was in trouble! Yes, the evidence of her "crime" had been caught on camera and (horror of horrors) her crime was going to be published on her mom's blog for all to see! Oh, the injustice! Or does the punishment embarrassment fit the crime? You be the judge!

  1. We're just glad Mom doesn't take pictures every time we "misstep". You have a very strict mom, Daisy!!

  3. Rowie (who is also a coonhound) has a routine of waking me up early. As soon as I get out of bed, she gets in and sleeps for the whole morning. She is so spoiled!

  5. Dr. Daisy...you should really see someone about that sleep condition you have! It's okay, your friend Riley doesn't like to sleep past 7:30...and her Mom really does!!

  11. Yes, we can hear the fighting between our cats if we wait too long to rise. And of course the pitiful crying is a given. Sounds like dogs are the same.

  12. As an attorney for dogs everywhere, I, Foley Monster, do not see and evidence that Daisy did anything wrong. I think if anything she was investigating what those kitties did to her pillow. On the other hand she is absolutely bugging get up that early. My Mommy and Daddy have to force me out of my snuggly bed in the morning. She in Daisy, it will keep you from getting framed for crimes you did not commit and being tucked in sage and warm is a wonderful thing.

  20. Finally! I am getting the justice I deserve! Of course, it is not my fault that the pillow somehow got torn to shreds! The cats did it and they are trying to frame me fur it! And besides, even IF I DID IT my humans are to blame beclaws they should know better than to sleep past 7 in the morning! Geesh!
