Last Sunday, a mixed breed dog named Duke who was saved from an animal shelter six years ago, repaid that debt to his family countless times over by saving the life of Jenna Brousseau's 9-week-old daughter, Harper.
Duke's guardian, Jenna Brousseau, said that Duke jumped on their bed that night, behavior which is completely out of character for him. Duke was shaking uncontrollably which prompted them to check on their baby who was not breathing.
Duke's efforts to get help for the baby gave the family time to dial 911 and get assistance from paramedics who were able to revive the little girl.
Brousseau has nothing but high praise for her beloved "shelter dog," stating:
"He's the perfect dog. He was meant to be ours, and meant to be hers. I tell him all the time you were born in mommy's heart, just because he was so meant to be ours. He's heaven. He's a good boy,"I would venture to say that parents generally know their dogs. And when they surprise us, more often than not it's in a good way. Or, in the case of Duke, an amazing, life-saving way.

MOM and I saw this on the news. Duke is amazing. My MOM has always said I was born in her heart. And we smiled real big when Jenna said the same thing of Duke.
