When Dogs Lie

When my humans get ready for vacation I try to look really, really sad about it but the truth is I am not THAT sad at all because ...

I know my pet sitters will drive me down the hill to my favorite walking trail where I sniff the ground for peemail

and after delivering my own peemail I am dog tired but still smiling!

Of course I have to refuel with plenty of refreshments for more walks

and I have to sit up and beg for treats with my friend Daisy and I MUST be first in line!

And at the end of my visit I stick my tongue out and smile for the camera because I want my pet sitters to know I love them a lot BUT of course I love my humans much better but let's keep that a secret until they get home, okay?

  1. I don't think of it as lying. I think of it as exaggerating. Like when they leave me for my bath. I try to dig my feet in the floor at the groomers and I try to make for the door. Then, when Alpha Mom leaves, I trot right to the back with the groomer. It's true that I don't like baths, but the groomer people are my friends and I do kind of enjoy watching the other dogs get done. But there's no need to tell my humans that. Best to leave them feeling that they have to make things up to me.

  9. Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower! It's great to have a fellow New Englander aboard. I've lived in MA, NH and now in ME. My partner also gave up teaching (in NH) to work with dogs and is now a dog trainer!

  10. Happy Birthday Henry!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I knew how old Happy is, but I don't!!
Happy showed up here at our house the first day of the new year 98. A new year's present!! We took her to the vets a couple of days later. The vet thought she was 3 to 6 years old and he thought closer to 6 because he said she had had many pregnancy's. Of course none since she came to live with us. So she is somewhere in the 15 to 18 year old range. I look forward to seeing how Henry celebrates his birthday!!!

  14. Thanks for stopping by. I love cat-sitting too. I used to care for both dogs and cats but then we started the dog biscuits and could not do it all so I sold the business and kept all the cat-sitting clients. That I could do. I have built up that part of the business and just love it. Yes, I spoil the cats but that's what I am for. It is so fun having another pet-sitter to follow. Thanks for the info on the coconut. I bought some yesterday to add to Kane's dinner. Off to catsit......Deb
