Dear Lord,
the pretty red roses that my dad gave her this morning
or the catnip that my kitty brothers, Henry and Buster, gave her
or the hand-knitted scarf that her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Andrena, gave her
because my gift didn't come from a flower shop, a cat food store, or from yarn because I can't shop or knit BUT I can give her one thing that comes from the paw.....a big old coon hound hug!
So, Lord, if you are listening, please make my mom love my gift as much as the other ones and if you do this one tiny thing for me I pawmise to keep my paws off her slippers, shoes, and hats forever and ever Amen.

Oh Daisy hugs are the best gifts! I can understand your confusion in how old your Mom is. Mine keeps saying she is 25 but seeing as I am 20 turning 21 soon, I find this impossible to believe. I hope your Mom has a great birthday!

ReplyDeleteIt's me, April, the birthday girl and I want to to tell you how thrilled I was to read all of your birthday well wishes and I want to also thank you for telling Daisy (I had no idea she was going through so much self-doubt today!) that her birthday hug idea was the BEST gift of all (but don't tell my fiance', my fiance's mother, or our cats that I admitted this) and you are right that Daisy is the gift who keeps on giving and giving and giving....okay, I think you get the idea that Daisy can't stop giving me hugs tonight, right? Guess what I did last night when mommy laid her head on "her" pillow? I shared *ahem* nudged my head on half of the pillow! That's right! I wanted to be as close as pawsible to her for hugging pawposes in the middle of the night! Good idea, right?
