Hair Salon Assistant, Fancy, Crosses Over the Rainbow Bridge

To me, a hair salon isn't complete without a furry assistant and as soon as I met Fancy at the door I knew I came to the right place. She always made sure that her hair stylist mom, Sandy, turned my hair into the perfect shade of blonde and she kept me busy playing ball while my color set.

When she wasn't at the salon she rode in her mom's lap while she mowed the lawn, retrieved balls from the lake, and went on long walks in the country.

Sadly, in the past few months her appetite wasn't what it used to be so naturally her mom introduced Fancy to several different meal plans but she was still finicky. As you can guess, Fancy lost weight, threw up a lot, and had bouts of diarrhea. Even after all of the vet appointments she had Fancy health declined causing Sandy to fear the worst.

Last week Fancy began vomiting for hours and nothing her mom did put a stop to it so she rushed to the vet's office and made the decision to put Fancy to sleep. She was 8 years old. The vet later determined that she most likely had lymph cancer.

Fancy will be missed by all of the salon clients but the ones who will miss her most are her parents and sisters.

May you rest in peace, Miss Fancy Pants!

    1. It is going to be so tough for Sandy to not have her little assistant at her salon but knowing that she did the right thing by ending her suffering should provide some comfort.

    1. I agree, Fern. We've all gone through this pain but it is a comfort to know that Fancy and all other pets are no longer suffering.

  5. It is so sad! She was no age at all, but I think her mom made the right decision. She was obviously suffering! Poor little thing :(
