Hello Friends,
Thank you so much for all of the prayers, crossed paws, and words of encouragement that you sent to Daisy and I yesterday! Even though it is impossible for all of you to be with us physically your heartfelt words have been and will continue to be an encouragement to us.
Besides Daisy's hip injury she sustained gashes on her face
and front left paw.
Last night and this morning Daisy was able to walk for a few moments at a time but she is favoring her left back paw because her hip is dislocated. She, of course, needs assistance as she goes up and down the stairs which is a painful and slow process for her. Since she weighs 70 pounds it is not easy for her mom to carry her but we've been able to manage somehow.
Today she is getting re-checked at the vet's office and I am also going to find out when it would be best to schedule her surgery.
Many have asked how they can help and I wonder if anyone has any information about financial assistance for surgery. I've been looking into a few organizations but it would be wonderful to get some extra information from you as well!
Thank you,
April

We can't help with ideas but maybe a vet college would do it cheaper? We wish Daisy well and April you take care too. Sending healing paw ans lots of love.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Since momma found out after she paid the $20,000 for my Lilys two surgeries, a pet payment plan was offered though the V-E-T. You may want to inquire

DeleteMom and I will keep Daisy in our thoughts.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any suggestions for financial help, but we hope you are able to find something that works for you. To help her up the stairs, could you make some sort of sling for under her tummy that would help you take some of the weight off her back legs. We know they sell things like that, but you could probably do it with a towel or sheet.
ReplyDeletePlease give her some gentle hugs from us.

We were given the suggestion to use a towel as a sling and it works out very well! Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteSending you both lots of hugs! Poor Daisy!
