Henry and Buster - Friends for Life!

When I adopted Henry (my tabby who is crowded in the back of the chair) 14 years ago I sensed that he was bored and lonely when I left for work each day so I adopted Buster as a kitten one year later. At first I thought it was a huge (pun intended due to Buster's 21 pound frame) mistake because they fought over chairs, my lap, my friend's laps, food and water bowls, and anything else worth (in their minds) squabbling about but the sweet moments like the one above made me realize I chose the right brother for Henry and I'm sure that Henry is thankful for Buster's companionship (and the squabbles) everyday!

I wonder --- did you adopt a furry companion for your first pet and if so how long did it take for the two to accept each other? Please share your stories! I'd love to read all about them!

  1. They are so cute together. And there are always squabbles in a loving family. I have always been a only dog. And for my MOM she has only had one dog at a time. But I do have all my "brothers" and "sisters" at day care.
    Blessings,

    1. You are a great "sibling" to your "brothers" and "sisters" for sure! I can see from your posts that they love you dearly!

  2. Awwwwwww! That is so cute! Sammy and Moosey seem to respect each other more and more (we've had Sammy for 6 years, and Moosey for 4). They're not *best* friends, but they are friends, and we often find them both sleeping together in a sunpuddle or on the bed now.

    1. I'm sure Sammy & Moosey don't want you to know that they are friends, right?

  4. When I came along by accident Pip hated me and would sit as far away as possible. About fortnight later she was my mum. We love each other very much. We are inseparable. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. Sunshine, snuggles and honey came together, I adopted Roxy and even though she had her cats I was always letting her play with dogs and when I saw Molly at my local shelter I knew she would make a great sister fro Roxy at first Roxy didn't like her(constantly barking at her and trying to cause fights) but I think they are finally getting along and enjoy being sisters

    1. That's good to know that your pets eventually got along but I'm sure it wasn't fun to watch and hear them while they tried to establish their family hierarchy!
