The rules of the contest are simple: (1) Browse through the Kathy Brodsky books below OR at http://www.kathybrodsky.com/ and decide which one is your favorite (2) Tell me which book you'd like to win AND why (3) If you aren't a FOLLOWER, please do so and I will follow your blog as well...I promise! (4) CONTEST ENDS ON SATURDAY, JUNE 12th at 5:00 pm, EST! (5) Sorry, only U.S. contestants, please!
Just Sniffing Around is about her French Mastiff, Cali, who passed away in December 2008 after a bout with bone cancer and she was just one month shy of her 11th birthday. This book is perfect for all dog lovers who have had a dog become part of the family.
My Bent Tree is about a little girl who finds a tree in the woods where she loves to play and they quickly become friends. One day the tree finds out that it may be cut down to make room for a strip mall so the community then rallies together to save the tree and create a green space in their community to enjoy.
At the advice of Kathy's cat loving friends, Purrsnikitty was created and it will be ready for purchase in late June 2010 and I am sure the book will delight children of all ages! To find the purrfect kitty character for Purrsnikitty and to raise awareness for animal shelters, she asked her fans to submit their very best feline photos along with a small donation to their favorite animal shelter. When the contest ended, Kathy raised $678.00 and the purrfect kitty for her much-anticipated book!

What beautiful books! I would love to win, "Just Sniffing Around." I lost my chocolate lab to bone cancer in July 2005. I still miss her to this day. As a children's book writer, with my doxie as the character, I know how near and dear the stories are to Kathy's heart. I'd love this book as part of my children's book collection with animals.
ReplyDeleteMy best to you, Kathy with your books!!

Woof! Woof! Blogger was having issues when I left my previous message but I would LOVE LOVE to win the Just Sniffing Around. My mom used to teach n I used to come to school with her. She'll read n share the book to me but plans to donate it to her old classroom. Definitely, the kids will LOVE it!. Lots of Golden Thanks, Suar
ReplyDeleteI'd like to enter your contest! I am interested in the book, "The Inside Story" because I am always wondering how the man in the bloo shorts knows how to bring packages to my friends!
ReplyDeletethank you!
Millie
Those look like great books!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Teddy Bear
Oh, we would want the kitty book. Yes, mmmhhh, kitty kitty kitty. We LOVE kitty!!
ReplyDeleteTo satisfy our kitty needs, pinkie has had to go to great lengths. Once we had a $500 internet bill because we were watching kitty videos on YouTube, apparently TOO MUCH. So if we had a book, we'd save some money and could invest it in a better place rather than giving it to the telecommunications company.
Molly has had holidays with TWO kitties, however, myself was served short and I feel I NEED the book to compensate. At the time it was deemed NOT safe for me (or the kitties) to be in close proximity of real purrsters (and the ban has still not been lifted) so having a book would perfectly solve this problem and leave EVERYBODY happy & safe.
Besides, I have broken leggie now so unfortunately I cannot engage in chasing the real thing. Having my own kitty book would help me deal with my boredom that I currently experience while RESTING my crippled body. We love the drawings; they are every realistic and ever so entertaining. Mmmmhhh, kitty kitty kitty.
INKY
We'd love to win the kitty book, because the dogs we share the house with (Amber and Andre) already have a copy of the sniffing book. You don't want the dogs to be more spoiled than us cats do you?
ReplyDeleteLove Runty and Cuda (We're using mom's computer, so it might look like she made this post, but it really was us kitties)
What a pawsome idea for a contest.
ReplyDeleteAll of the books look wonderful, but I thinks I would love to win the Purrsnickity book. My cousin Mozie-dog just had a new kitty join her family....a beautiful calico girl from a local shelter! I haves not met her yet in purr-son, but I dids see a piktur of hers, and she was hanging out in da bathroom, prolly using the mirror to gaze at herself just like the Purrsnickity kitty.
Your furrend,
MinnaK
We would LOVE to enter the contest! We have a 4 year old sisfurbean who LOVES stories! We either, if we won, would like The Bent Tree (she LOVES to go hiking in the mountains) or PurrsNKitty, as there are 4 of us kitties at our house.
ReplyDeletePs...we do follow your blog! :o)
Thanx a Bunch~!!!
That is a wonderful contest! Mummy is going to put it on her list of books to read to us. Good luck to everyone! We are not in the US so we will go and track down the titles!

I just heard from Kathy Brodsky tonight and she just got her shipment of Purrskitty tonight earlier than expected so the book is ready to be shipped to you if you are interested!
ReplyDeleteOMD all those books sound most wonderfuls! If I had to choose just one I thinks it would be "My Bent Tree" because some peoples in our town are trying to do the same thing near our house and my mom is trying her best to fights them from cutting down all the the tree near our house.
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
I think I'd like to win My Bent Tree because I have a little bent tree in my backyard and I take special care of it so it can grow tall like the others.
ReplyDeleteHey lady we like Just Sniffing Around. It sounds like a story that warms are heart. Even though Cli is huger than us, we like those Mastiffs. Cali must have had a good life living to almost 11. We hope she didn't suffer.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Benny & Lily
How did I miss this? :) Ok, I already follow your blog and I love it! My favorite book of her's is Just Sniffing Around. I recently had a family dog pass away. It is such a hard thing to go through but the memories and times with her were worth it all! I would love to win Just Sniffing Around because I would love to share the book with my students. I am a teacher (this will be my first year teaching in my own classroom) and I am trying to get as many books as possible to share with my kids!
ReplyDelete~Maggie
Hi, nice to be here. I'd like to sniff the sniffing book and remember my big sis who left us almost a year ago to go run with the angels on the other side of the bridge.
