Please Pray for Lemmy!

Please pray for Lemmy (this picture was taken on Thursday, by the way) and for the neurologist to find out what plan needs to be in store for him because Lemmy has had seven seizures so far since Wednesday. These 30 second seizures have been occurring every  3-4 hours and once they're over he's very confused by it all and so aren't his brothers!

When he's going through these seizures Iggy rushes to his side to try to help out but

Arty has been tired because Lemmy has been poking him with his legs during his many naps and wild dreams!

He chose not to join us for our afternoon walks this week, and as you know from all of the many, many posts about him for the past three years since I've known him, that's not normal for him. I'm worried and so are his brothers and family!

While he and his family wait for his upcoming appointment with the neurologist, he's taking anti-seizure medication which lessens the severity of the seizures.

I hate to say it but the vet thinks his symptoms point toward a brain tumor or epilepsy and, of course, we are all praying that neither diagnosis is correct!

If any of my readers have had pups with these symptoms please tell us your story because some moral support and prayers is what is needed right now! Thank you!

  1. Prayers and POTP on the way from our house to Lemmy hoping the doctor can get this under control with medication and also that the "C" word doesn't play a part in all of this. Hugs to Lemmy and his family.

  2. Prayers going out to Lemmy! Though Epilepsy is not a wonderful condition, it certainly is the better diagnosis and with the proper medication or combination of meds the seizures may not only lessen in severity or frequency, they may go away altogether! Seizures may also be caused by allergies or other changes in diet or environment too! As a person who has had a seizure disorder all my life, I know that it may take time to find the right meds but once it happens, Lemmy could easily go back to leading his happy, carefree life! I will certainly hope and pray that this is the case for him!

    1. I did not realized epilepsy could be caused by those factors or that certain medication could eventually stop the seizures
We are all trying to think positively about these scary seizures in the meantime

    2. You are correct. Epilepsy is a neurological condition in of itself. However, just as the expression goes "All rectangles are not squares but all squares are rectangles", all who are epileptic have had some type of seizures but not all who have seizures are epileptic. They may have a generalized seizure disorder. This may be the case with Lemmy.

    1. Thank you for your comment! I'm sure he knows you are praying for him! Some people who pass him on the street think he might be a tough guy but he's a sweetheart who knows he's loved by Gramma and everyone else!
