The Heartbreak Of The Unloved Loveseat

For 11 months Henry, Daisy, and Buster lounged on their stained, uncomfortable, $35.00 Craigslist couch without a complaint but when I replaced the couch with a

leather loveseat two days ago my pets have been heartbroken! I thought they would like the upgrade but instead

Daisy will only look at it from afar,

Henry won't look at it at all,

and

Buster has gone into hiding!

Clearly, my pets don't think there's anything to love about their new loveseat! Instead, they want their stained, uncomfortable, $35.00 Craigslist couch back in their living room!

I'm hoping they will give this loveseat a chance or else I'll be sitting on it all by my lonesome!

Have you ever bought a new piece of furniture only to find your pets didn't approve? If so, how long did it take for them to enjoy it with you?

  1. Poor lonely loveseat! I'll take it!

  2. So far Mom hasn't brought home anything new, we sit on her lap no matter where she is sitting although if she is reading a book Trudie jumps down cos she is scared of the book? Maybe you should put treats in a basket beside you on the couch, or strawberries, that would work for me!

  3. Good idea, Stella! I need to sit on the couch more often with a basket of treats beside me! Strawberries will entice Henry to come nearby but the other two wouldn't think of eating anything THAT healthy! LOL
Brian, if you take the loveseat and replace it with their old couch you would make my pet's day!

  4. Well, Mom got a nice new black leather sectional sofa last year and we thought....oh boy! Now we don't have to sleep on top of each other anymore. The entire pack enjoys the big sectional...Mom and Dad sit on the floor to watch television.

  5. Thank you, Amber, for giving me hope that one day my pets will sit on the loveseat but I'm not sure how I'll feel if I have to sit on the floor! Ha! Ha!

  6. Sorry new furniture....I'm onto it .....it's mine and possession is nine tenths of the law. I may not like but it is still mine. My den, my rules. Have a lovely Friday.

  8. None of us are crazy about leather. Did you keep any of the cushions from the old one - maybe you could make those their beds:)

  9. Don't worry. They'll come around. Especially after you drop some popcorn or other treats on it. It'll increase in appeak for sure.

  10. Never met a couch I didn't like. If they have a favorite blankie maybe put that on there and slowlyover time remove it. I gotta say you have to love a human who is concerned that we furs ones won't get on the couch

  11. My dogs don't like anything new to be brought into the house. They bark at it and then ignore it if it isn't good to eat.

  12. OMG soooo cute!!!!!!

I bet it is because it is leather....maybe check out the SureFit.com website and get a comfy pet cover for your leather couch. It doesn't cover the couch completely and it comes in attractive colors. (No I do not work for them lol, I have one and I LOVE IT!)

We had a ratty chair that both Cody and Dakota adored. They were also heartbroken when it left about a year ago. Cody will sit on the couch, Dakota? Nope, not unless we are on it and even then he won't stay on it long, but that old, ugly chair? They LOVED IT!

  15. Catnip, a pet cover, time, and patience will help me relax while I wait for Henry, Buster, and Daisy to accept (and love) their new loveseat! Or perhaps this loveseat is for me alone and they are just waiting for me to sit down and relax on it for a change? Either way, this loveseat has given us all something to admire from afar! Hee-Hee! Thanks so much for your words of wisdom!

  17. Hi Benny & Lilly,

If our mom consulted us before buying this scary piece of furniture we wouldn't be heartbroken! Sniff! Sniff!

I wonder how we can get our stinky old couch back, anyway? Any thoughts?

    XOXO- Daisy, Henry, and Buster

  18. Maybe just add back the smelly blankets? We really like our smelly blankets!

  19. We should have such problems. There is only ONE piece of dog friendly furniture here and that is for PeeWee only. Can you believe it?
