Looking back at last year's calendar I realized that on Saturday, December 7, Daisy was struck by a car. At first I feared the worst but there she was lying under the car driven by an extremely horrified man who immediately apologized. Of course, I was hysterical. As my dazed and confused girl was whisked off to the emergency veterinary hospital (as shown above) while I tried to comfort her as best as I could.
The vet later told me that Daisy had concurrent hip dysplasia prior to the accident and the accident put her hip out of socket. I was told that she will need FHO surgery (femoral head and neck ostectomy) so that Daisy could function as she did prior to the accident.
After her surgery I spent the rest of the month administering medication and
coaxing Daisy to walk while also doing my best to reduce her fear of traffic.
Now that I have been reminded of Daisy's trauma and recovery it makes me smile once more that she is pain free and as happy as ever.
Thank you for your support and love during that horrific time last year!
We so remember that day, and we are so happy she is here enjoying the snow and her mommas love.
