Tim Hetzner, president of Lutheran Church Charities, says the dogs will stay at least until Sunday.
Lee Ann Yanni had been training to run her first full-distance marathon in October at the time of the Boston Marathon bombings. She said she's planning to run again when she recovers. |
Hetzner said,"People talk to the dogs - they're like furry counselors. It's a chance to help bring some relief to people that are shaken up because of the bombings."

Thank you! And Boston thanks you too!
We just love those dogs. They will help provide so much comfort and healing. I know, cuz my buddy Bert does it every single week at the hospitals and school.

I thought of Bert when I read about the Comfort Dogs! I remember reading about Bert's visits to the hospitals and schools and think it is so kind of him to help people in need!
DeleteWhat a heart-warming post today. I'm sending others over to read about it. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb! The dogs certainly can't heal them physically but they can heal them emotionally and that's a start, right?
DeleteI'm extremely impressed together with your writing abilities as smartly as with the format in your weblog. Is this a paid topic or did you customize it your self? Either way stay up the nice quality writing, it is uncommon to look a great blog like this one today..

If I were traumatised by something so terrible, I know hugging and talking to one of those wonderful dogs would be a huge comfort to me. It's a wonderful gift to bestow on those who are suffering. Thanks for telling us about it and I'm so glad Deb sent us over here!
ReplyDeleteMy peep knows how much comfort a dog can be, she always gives me a big cuddle when she's upset. Those doggies do great work!
