I was purrfectly amazed that 39 furry friends lended their paw of support when I was gravely ill with Writer's Block. Without your suggestions I would probably be staring at a blank screen this morning but since practically everybuddy wants the scoop (hee! hee!) about my 6 day hiatus I have plenty of things to meow about.....
My decision to run away from home began shortly after my coonhound sister, Daisy, joined the family on May 30th, 2009. From the looks of this picture you probably think everything was fine and dandy but I had a plan....
and the plan to run away wouldn't have been pawsible without my younger brother, Buster, who...
tore a hole in the corner of our screened-in deck and it was just large enough for me squeeze my way out of Daisy's life furrever!
When my toes hit the ground I thought I'd wander over to the Animal Rescue League in Bedford beclaws their adoption waiting rooms are the cat's meow!
For a minute there, the rescue league seemed like a purrfect solution butt moving away from my Manchvegas girlfriend, Darling Millie, would put a strain on our relationship. You know what "they" say about long distance relationships, don't you?
When Garbo found out about my daring escape from home she invited me over for an interview butt when I walked into her condo she tried to seduce me instead! I don't mean to be catty but I heard she has been using that sexy leg pose on every man-cat in town but I never thought she'd use her charms on a practically married man! I guess the bright lights of Manchvegas set Garbo's soul on fire when I walked in the room!
Naturally, since I am quite the cat's meow, Garbo chased me all the way onto Elm Street where we met up with Paul the Cat Walker! I quite liked the fella but Garbo feared he would put her on a leash so she was running wild all the way home in no time flat!
After all of that excitement it was good to run into Mr. Dave and his beautiful cat, Jesse! Oops! I meant to say "dog" but I swear that girl thinks she's a cat! However, she wasn't interested in me beclaws she was too busy looking at her best cat buddy, Papi, instead!
Trust me, there were a lot more adventures during my six day Manchvegas tour but after awhile I got kinda tired, hungry, and lonesome for home (even though Daisy would be there) so I stood at my back door and meowed as loud as I pawsibly could until ....
my dad scooped me into his arms and into my home where I belong!
The End
Hi Henry! Thanks for the story about your six day adventure! You're right about that shelter waiting room looking like fun. This is Tucker's mom, you know, the dog who won the Just Sniffin Around book. He's kinda tired right now so I'm writing. I sure hope your humans fixed that hole in the screen so you can't get away again!
ReplyDeleteThose are cool waiting rooms. I almost want to go climb around in there.
ReplyDeleteGoodness that was quite the adventure! I'm sure glad you made it home safe!

ReplyDeleteHello Henry,
ReplyDeleteI can remember when you went missing like it was yesterday. I can recall that my mommy told Daddy that they had to go out looking for you right away! Mommy had a funny feeling you were right around the house, hiding in some bushes or Something. I hope Grover never encounters the Paul the Cat Walker, Grover really isn't a good friend to kitty Cats! We are so Glad Henry that you found your way home to your Family.
Love Your Friends
Geisha,Grover,Bailey,Lily,and Wrinkles.
Henry, if the wanderlust strikes you again, just click your paws together and repeat after me, "There's no place like home. There's no place like home."
ReplyDeleteBlog Mom wants to say that she's been to Manchester, NH and it was a nice place. Vegas was not something she thought of when she was there, however, she has not actually been to Vegas so she might well be missing something.

Hello...It's me, Henry, and let me just meow that there is "no place like home" and I was super happy to be home with my pawrents, Buster, and even Miss Daisy on that warm summer night in June last year. I lost a few pounds during my 6 day Manchvegas Tour but that's to be expected and I gained those lost 3 pounds back in no time! The only concern I have is FURR my Darling Millie (who is a fantastic and beautiful blogger) and I hope she didn't believe all of the publicity news about my Garbo encounter! You know how the catarrazzi is about blowing things out of proportion these days!
