Rest in Peace, Dewey! You Will Forever Be Missed!

On Friday night Dewey's mom contacted me with the news that my former client (he moved to Maine two years ago) and forever friend, Dewey, would be heading to Rainbow Bridge on Saturday morning due to his declining health as a result of old age (he was 17 at his passing)

Even though his joints caused him great pain in his last years and even though he was slowly going deaf and blind I hoped he would stay on this earth a little while longer but I also know that the quality of his life wasn't what it should be and putting him to sleep was the humane and kind thing to do.

When I think back to the countless times I've walked him alongside his sibling, Emma, the one moment I cherished most was when

Dewey made frequent stops at the recycling bins so he could

grab his favorite bottle, carry it for miles, and then

proudly add it to his growing collection in his yard!

If you aren't crying already, there are more memories of Dewey in this poignant video created by his mom, Maureen, that shows more of what this handsome guy was all about!

Rest in peace, Dewey! Love you bunches!
