Daisy's Car Accident Update

Hello Friends,

Thank you so much for all of the prayers, crossed paws, and words of encouragement that you sent to Daisy and I yesterday! Even though it is impossible for all of you to be with us physically your heartfelt words have been and will continue to be an encouragement to us.

Besides Daisy's hip injury she sustained gashes on her face

and front left paw.

Last night and this morning Daisy was able to walk for a few moments at a time but she is favoring her left back paw because her hip is dislocated. She, of course, needs assistance as she goes up and down the stairs which is a painful and slow process for her. Since she weighs 70 pounds it is not easy for her mom to carry her but we've been able to manage somehow.

Today she is getting re-checked at the vet's office and I am also going to find out when it would be best to schedule her surgery.

Many have asked how they can help and I wonder if anyone has any information about financial assistance for surgery. I've been looking into a few organizations but it would be wonderful to get some extra information from you as well!

Thank you,

April

  13. We don't have any suggestions for financial help, but we hope you are able to find something that works for you. To help her up the stairs, could you make some sort of sling for under her tummy that would help you take some of the weight off her back legs. We know they sell things like that, but you could probably do it with a towel or sheet.

Please give her some gentle hugs from us.
