Four Extra Paws For One Night

Because it was becoming more and more difficult to drive back and forth to Sophie's house yesterday I invited Sophie to my house for a sleepover.

Sophie settled right next to her long-legged pal and the two snored the night away but

I couldn't have happier to give Sophie what she needed, companionship, even if it was for one night.

If you've had four extra paws at your home for any length of time, did he/she settle in nicely or was it not so nice for you? Do share, please!

  4. Yes... sleepovers are great. The Great Noodles and his sister come over here when the beans go on vacation. It's always good to have them, except Noodles has a habit of waking HH up at 4:00am.. HEE HEE.. He's naughty. Have fun!

  5. Hmmm, we've never really had any "guests." Usually, if a dog comes in the house, it stays ;)

PeeS - those beagles in that pic on our blog weren't anybeagles we know - just a random clip art. But they look like fun, no?

  6. After Bella lets them know 'they are only the guests', a few games of chasing, everyone settles down.

  8. For the converse of that, Toby did a sleep over at our daughter's house over Christmas. He was the perfect gentleman and is invited back!

  9. Sleepovers can be so much fun! I used to keep my friends dog years ago and she and my other dog were like the perfect couple! Both were Cocker Spaniels...mine was male, her's was a female...both fixed thankfully...but they acted like a couple in love. It was wonderful to keep her and made my dog happier! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

  10. Thanks for your nice message today. Mama wishes you could be our pet sitter! We have someone that comes in twice a day to feed the cats, but Mama thought I would be lonely (cause I love people) so she had me stay with my grandparents. I LOVE my grandparents, but I LOVE my parents even more. I have stayed with my grandparents for years, but the last few trips I have been a little more stressed being away from home. I guess I am getting a little more nervous as I get older (I'm 13).

I am feeling better and was able to eat some yummy chicken and rice for dinner.

  11. We've had 4 extra paws lotsa times... and they usually settle right in. The key (for us) with the more nervous ones is that they arrive early in the day so they can settle in before bedtime.

Our funniest 4 extra paws was an irresponsible neighbor's dog who was chained outside and they were ignoring our phone calls. We have big predators here so it's not at all safe to tie a dog outside all night. So, we "borrowed" the dog for the night, and we did it every time they left her out. She'd jump right into bed with us and snore the night away. We'd sneak her back home before the neighbors woke up. They eventually moved away - I hope that sweet dog is doing OK.

  12. We have four leggers over fairly regularly. Both our kids love to travel, so when they go out of town, the grand-dogs settle in for days at a time. Indy and Bogey adjust pretty well to this. I'm sure it adds an element of excitement to their day!

  13. That sounds like fun! We've never had a pet sleepover at our house, but she's gone to her Aunt Kims for sleepovers and seems to love being with all the other dogs.
