5 Tips To Ensure That Your Pets Have a Great New Year's Eve

I know Grumpy Cat (aka Tardar Sauce) has nothing pawsitive to say about New Year's Eve but I wonder if she would change her mind if humans understood why she felt this way? If we made sure we followed these 5 tips to make her New Year's Eve comfortable she just might smile for the first time:

  • Make sure your pets are microchipped. If not, make sure your pet is wearing a collar with identification tags with current information. Cats should wear break away collar in case he/she escapes.
  • Keep your pet indoors in a quiet area that is familiar to him/her with plenty of fresh water and give dogs several safe chew toys. Cats will do best in a bathroom or utility room with food, water and their litter box.
  • Dogs should be kept away from large glass windows or doors because when scared they are capable of crashing right through.
  • Keep all alcohol, festive foods such as chocolate, floral arrangements, and party decorations away from your pets. They may look and smell appealing but the result of ingesting them could result to a trip to the vet or much worse.

  • Remember to keep a watchful eye on your pet and put the name and number of your veterinarian and local animal emergency clinic in a designated area.

Even with these 5 tips Grumpy Cat may not enjoy New Year's Eve but other pets will, I'm sure!
