Daisy's Surgery Update!

Because you prayed and sent pawsitive thoughts to me and my frantic mom for days and days I amazed my surgeon and the vet tech ladies by waking up very quickly after surgery yesterday morning and then I gave everyone my best "let me go home tonight instead of tomorrow night" look and *voila* my mom showed up at 6:30 on the dot to get me out of the dogter's, in the car, and back on the floor where I belong!

Oh, and because I knew everyone was sending healing thoughts my way, I want you to know that I stood up and started looking for my mom a few minutes after the surgery was over! And another thing? When I was waiting for my mom to show up I whined and whistled for all of the attention that I could get from the nice vet tech ladies and they loved every minute of it!

And wouldn't you know that as soon as I plopped down on the floor (no dog pillow or crate for a tough girl like me, thank you very much) my mom decided to take a picture of my naked leg? I was so embarrassed but my mom said that all of my friends would want to catch a glimpse of my scar and pink anklet. I hope she's right because this photo op of hers was next to ridiculous! BOL!

And as you can see from the picture, Henry thinks it is a bonus that my medications need to be wrapped in chicken because he gets to snack while I swallow!

Ever since last night I've been resting, wearing the cone of shame when my mom isn't around, walking outdoors for only a few seconds, and dreaming of my friends who care an awful lot about me!

Thanks for all of your prayers and kind thoughts,

Daisy Duke

  4. My mom didn't get to sleep until the wee hours of the morning because I wouldn't get in bed with her so she tried to get comfortable on our uncomfortable couch (BOL) and then she tried to pull the bed part out and couldn't so she gave up and went to sleep in the bedroom! I, of course, had no trouble sleeping at all! - Daisy -
