Daisy Is Finally Staple-Free and Loving It!

If you look closely at Daisy's shaved hip you will see that her staples have been removed! She was so happy to be staple-free this morning that she wagged her tail feverishly and barked for joy! The vet was impressed that her incision has been healing very nicely (it should look good since she's been spending days licking her wound) and that she is walking much better than she was on the day of her initial appointment on December 10th!

It's hard to believe that she had surgery 12 days ago and that she was hit by a car 22 days ago! The next steps (literally) is to get her to stop looking and acting so fearful whenever she sees cars. She often stands on the top of the stairs looking out on the road in a panic and won't go onto the sidewalk without a nudge or a few words of encouragement.

I miss the days when we used to walk by all the shops, the gas station, and into the bank to get her biscuits and hope she will soon be unafraid to walk down the street to get them!

According to the vet she should be completely healed in 10-12 weeks and I thank you all for cheering her on to victory!
