Buster and Henry Test the Waters

It's no secret that I love to hunt for deals at yard sales so when I purchased this vintage goblet I envisioned it as a candy dish but  Buster thought it should be used as a water bowl.

It's also no secret that I love to end my day with a cup of tea so finding the large cup (above)was a dream come true but as soon as began washing it Henry jumped into the sink and began slurping to his heart's content.

I'd like to think my cats share my love of yard sales but the reality is that they want to wait to see what I bought for THEM.

What goodies have you bought for yourself and later found that your cats wanted them instead?

  1. It may sound weird but our cat Tiffany doesn´t like to drink from round-shaped bowls.

  2. Mine only want my drink as long as I'm trying to drink it....

If I give whatever it is to them, then of course they don't want it any longer.

  3. My cats like to stand in the bathtub and drink from the faucet, which is incessantly dripping.

And yay for BIG coffee mugs! Those are my favorite, too.

  4. We do have a ceramic fountain that we all love, but my purrsonal favorite is an itty bitty dixie cup, yep, seriously!

  5. One of us will try to drink from whatever glass our Food Source is using. Most of the time it is coffee or iced tea or something else that he doesn't want her trying, so there is usually a dual between them. (Luna usually wins, eventually, by spilling the glass)

  6. Oooo... are goblets specifically for kitties only? I think a vintage goblet would be PERFECT for my sister Phoenix! (She likes to be fancy.)

  7. No cats here, and we all seem to like our plain old stainless steel bowls, but some ice added is really nice. We think Buster and Henry are just very classy cats:)

  8. No cats here either, but boy...cats sure seem picky about where their water comes from! We drink from puddles outside!

  9. I think that was so clever and kind of you to let them use these types of things for their water.

My Angel Bobo used to love drinking out of water glasses but I never substituted his drinking bowl for one of my glasses.

Cody is strange. He prefers to drink his water out of Dakota's stainless steel bowl...he likes to stand on his hind legs and drink from it. I bought him his own stainless steel bowl (kitty sized)....he still prefers Dakota's! Strange cat!

  10. Yes! My feline siblings refuse to drink out of their bowls and prefer any glass, wine glass, coffee cup, etc. they can find.

    Your pal, Pip

P.S.: My mom is most impressed that you don't drink coffee!

  11. Our beloved cat 'Mozart', would only drink from the bathroom sink. He would lay in the sink and meow as you walked by. What a demanding cat he was!

  12. No Coffee? I couldnt get my day started without at least 2 cups!!

I recently bought 2 water fountains for the kittis and they love them! Before the fountains their favourite drinking vessel would have been a huge stainless steel bowl. The funniest thing though, is that they would splash the water first with a paw before drinking it - weird!

  15. Wow, I guess I have to confess... I used to destroy every drinking bowl I could. Plastic ones got chewed up. Metal ones got flipped over, dented and thrown around. Even a huge, heavy ceramic one...I picked it up and dropped it until I broke it. Luckily I outgrew this before Mom and Dad lost their patience! BOL

  17. Moosey always tries to drink out of my water glass. Of course, this is the same cat who loves water from the faucet of the bathtub spigot...

  18. My kitty sister has a whole bucket of water to herself! Why does she need so much water for?

  19. Mommy once had a cat who loved eating plastic bags. Ate an entire large trash bag once. Mommy don't have that cat no more
