How Do You Know If A Movie Is Right For You?

I know this blog is supposed to center around my life with pets but sometimes a gal's got to spend some time in the world of humans and that's exactly what I did this weekend!

Since this week is going to filled with visiting pets at all hours of the day and night I thought I'd start the weekend off with a trip to the movies and I chose the highly anticipated "How Do You Know?" as my jumping off point but I found the movie to be terribly disappointing.

                                                                           BUT

I have a feeling Roger Ebert will give rave reviews for another Reese Witherspoon film, Water For Elephants, a movie adaptation of Sara Gruen's novel of the same name. I cannot wait to see this novel come to life on April 15, 2011, can you?

Feast your eyes on the newly released Water For Elephants movie trailer below and you'll understand what the buzz is all about!

What are your thoughts about "How Do You Know?" and what are your thoughts about the upcoming film "Water For Elephants"?

  1. I haven't seen How Do You Know, but I want to. I may wait for the DVD though, if it's not that great. I'd like to see both movies actually. If nothing else, I love all the people in both of them.

I guess the holidays are a busy time for pet sitters. I never thought about that! Hope you have an enjoyable time!

  2. For the most part, I usually just rent movies to watch at home. That way if I am disappointed, at least I can voice my opinions without bothering others. :-P

I am Water for Elephants is worth seeing. I am looking forward to that one as well.

    Happy holidays!

  3. Ah ha! So you did relax this weekend. Good for you. Sorry you were duped into viewing a crappy movie. It's the Hollywood way - make money, not art. There are exceptions, but the numbers don't lie. 5 bad for every good movie.
    Sigh....

  6. I haven't seen the first movie, although it was on my list of ones to watch. Sad to hear it wasn't as good as it looked. I've never seen anything about the elephant movie but the trailer was sure captivating. I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks

  9. I don't remember the last time I went to the movies. We usually get DVD's or pay per view... If I don't like the flick, I can just curl up on the couch and doze
